We have CNY family gathering every year. This year is my father-in-law's turn to organize. As usual, he's the MD of the family, so MOST of the iteneries will left for us to plan. On the eve of CNY, we went to SHOGUN in 1-Utama for the reunion dinner. Yah, the bill for that night totalled up to about RM1,600. Yes, for 3 tables. Anne was very cranky that night. Not catching enough sleep and too much parading... So we have to take turns to take her out of the restaurant to jalan-jalan. I did not manage to join the family activities after the dinner as Anne was very exhausted. I have to teman her to dreamland.
1st day of CNY saw all of us going to the National Zoo. I cannot believe myself doing this. I have always wondered that why people always visit the zoo during festive holidays. It was so packed, people parked their cars along the road at MRR2 and also all the way into Kemensah. It was so humid and hot despite the breeze. Anne definately cannot stand the heat (she is used to the air-con temp, thanks to my MIL). Therefore, I have to strip her down to her diaper (Poor Anne, half-naked parade) and have to sprinkle water on her body once in a while to cool her down. I myself with sleeveless T and a short was drenched with sweat. We were having a family walk hunt and I did not manage to have a good look at the animals. Instead I was paying attention at the information boards, searching for the answers the the walk hunt questions. Meanwhile, Anne was getting cranky again and I remembered feeding her inside the bird cage...well not exactly INSIDE the bird cage with the bird around me...haha. I think Anne was getting the lactose with a minor sodium dosage. At night, we had our dinner at the Rahman Putra Club. It was a buffet in the lounge. That was when we recap what we did for the past 2 days. Anne was not feeling comfortable in the lounge. Maybe it was the noise and the dim lights in the lounge. Anne stayed outdoors most of the time to keep her calm and distracted.
On the 2nd day of CNY, we were at my parents' place in Damansara Damai. We had our lunch and dinner there. It was also the first time that I had left overs Yee Sang. Yup, thanks to my Mom's Pig's Leg With Dark Sauce, everybody seemed to forget the Yee Sang. Anne enjoyed her time there...yes, no crackiness. Maybe she had enough naps and sips. Hubby napped most of the time there as he had a bad headache. My cousins was there, together with their babies. We exchanged information about child care. Bro just came back from Cambodia for holiday. As usual, he bought souvenirs for me and also my favourite, chocolates! He bought a big Toblerone. I haven't even finished the last one that he bought. Yup still in the fridge in my house. We left before we could finish the Jack Neo's film on TV as Anne has to sleep and I have to WORK the next day. Still in the holiday mood...
