Peter & Jenny: Walking Down The Aisle

Semoga Berkekalan Ke Anak Cucu...

I just came back from my classmate wedding dinner at The Corus Hotel. Well, I haven't met her for about close to 10 years. It was 2 weeks ago when I received a call from Jenny. She was sending her invitation to her wedding. As usual, dinner time on the card says 7pm sharp. But the dinner started at about 8.30pm. Me looking at the menu, hmm..the usual plat-du-diner-du-chinois... Impress me. Well, I am expecting something when it comes to hotel wedding dinners. My sister-in-law gave me hint-hint. She said don't give too much expectations. There were only 6 of us on our table. Therefore, the food was too much for us to handle. Even Hubby can't take it too much. Maklumlah, just recover from diarrhea and fever. The most annoying thing about this dinner is the MC. Well, apart from his overdo Yum Seng stint, I didn't expect him to perform on stage. This is even worst from a Ah Pek singing kareoke.

Don't You Wish Your Boyfriend Was Hot Like Me...

Hmm...there goes another saman for the year. The next one will be my brother-in-law's in 3 weeks time. o.O

Tzyy Anne: Jab Jab Warrior 2

Anne went for her jab session again today at the Government clinic in Kuchai Lama. Mummy and Ah Ngien reached there about 10am. Quite difficult to find a place to park there. Mummy had to make a few rounds until she found one. We were one of the few last visitors there. It was extremely noisy with kids running around and babies crying. Yes, very crowded until Anne wasn't feel very comfortable lor. Mummy had to feed Anne to calm her down. Anne fell asleep after the feeding until another Mummy with her baby came into the feeding area. The baby cried because of the pain caused by the jab. The crying was so contagious, Anne also follow suit! Before the jab session, Anne was being weighed. Sorry, the video is quite obscene, Mummy had agreed on the blog's terms and conditions. =.= Then measurement is being taken.

I am getting taller!

Taking My Vital Statistics Eh...

The menu for today's immunization is...
  • 3rd dosage of Hep. B
  • DTap: Diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis vaccine
  • Hib: Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine
  • Oral Polio Vaccine
Anne is going to have fever again this time, just like the last jab`session. Mummy had taken her leave to take care of Anne. Mummy hope Anne will not have nightmares tonight. Anne shouldn't as she is a Jab Jab Warrior!

Veron: Pamperness Anyone?

Hubby finds me the weirdest person on earth when it comes to the kind of TV programmes that I like to watch. Well, I prefer watching foreign films (yes, that includes Malay movies / dramas). I was scrolling on Astro the other day when I came across this Thai movie, Metrosexual.

Metrosexual

Hmm, very interesting title, I thought it was some sort of a French movie. Voila, it did kept me glued to the idiot box until the end. Its a comedy which revolves around the lifes of 5 ladies whom are best friends of each other. Think 'Sex and the City' in Thai version. One of the girls will soon marry her boyfriend whom the rest of the gang suspects that he's a gay. The guy, Kong quite good looking is very organized (his wardrobe is very well organized in terms of color co-ordination, labeled shoe boxes, toilet paper folded at the edges - like in hotel's). He even takes care of his facial needs (he applies night cream for his eyes).

After watching this movie, I have been thinking. I haven't really came across a guy like this before, not that I have known. I used to buy men facial cleanser and cream for Hubby to use. This is because he has been using the same bar of soap to wash his face.

Hubby's Favorite: Dettol Soap

Guess what, he didn't even use it. Reason: He's lazy. Well, after some time, I was thinking, it would have been quite worrying if Hubby is like Kong. Even myself, I haven't been to have my face being pampered, or any manicure and pedicure sessions or a trip to the salon to perm or straighten my hair. Sounds pathetic? Okie, one SPA treatment in Penang before and 3 times of foot reflexology in my lifetime. In terms of these stuff, I am a bit reluctant to splurge. I bought myself a tube of mud mask and promise myself to use every week. Unfortunately, poor mud mask is always been forgotten. Maybe I am too busy. I remember the days when I was flying and I always have the opportunity to pamper myself. Yes, to apply mask on my face. I don't think I can slot in time for all these for the time being. The pamperness session is now on Anne...

Veron: Gangsta Paradise

Today I was awaken by a sad news. My sister-in-law got robbed at Danau Kota at 4am this morning. She was with a few friends at one of the mamak stall and was approached by a few guys with their motorbike. She was hit on her head with a helmet and they took her valuables. One of her guy friend saw the incident and would like to help out but those people took out their parangs which left her friend helpless. Traumatised, she went to a few police stations to report the incident. My mother-in-law then accompanied her to the hospital to get a x-ray scan for her head. Luckily, nothing serious happened to her.

From this incident, it makes me think. I used to stay around this area (Wangsa Maju, Setapak) for about 20 over years. Yes, I am a city girl staying in the suburbs. I have seen the place developed from a jungle to a concrete jungle now and it has certainly pumped up the population in this area. There are a lot of low cost flats around this area. This place is never short of facilities like schools, transportation (bus, LRT), college, shopping malls, markets, etc. I must say its a nice place to stay with all the facilities. Furthermore, it is very near to the town. Now, the place started to get very congested with all the condos and shop lots mushrooming everywhere which left the greeneries nowhere to be seen. I must say that the place where I used to grow up has turned to become a gangsta paradise. Why? The incidents below are listed in chronological order (as far as I can remember... o.O)

  • Mid-1990s: My father-in-law's 2 Perdanas (1 I think is his and subsequently he rent another) got stolen in front of his house in Section 5.
  • 1997-1998: My parents' Wira got broken into while parking at the upper parking lot in Alpha Angle. Nothing valuable has been lost.
  • 1998: My classmate, Michelle was a victim of snatch thief which took place in Wangsa Melawati. She was walking alone at the roadside in the morning to catch a bus. A motorbike with 2 guys grabed her handbag from behind. She held on to the handbag and they dragged her about 5 to 10 metres. The handbag stripe eventually snapped and they went away leaving Michelle helpless.
  • 2001: I become a victim. After class, got down from the bus near Carrefour. Met with my classmate (guy, which is quite big size). He accompanied me to Hubby's house (then boyfriend la). We were walking on the opposite of the road in the housing area. I was always very observant when I was alone. But things happened when you least expected. I heard a motorbike approching from behind. Usually I will turned my head and look. This time, little did I know, one of the guys on the motobike came from my behind, pulled my back pack from my right and I fell on my back on the ground. Things happened so fast that I did not know what had happened until my classmate shouted, "OI!!" at them and only I realised that I was looking at the sky, clueless. Fortunate enough, I didn't hurt my back and head, just scratches on my left elbow (yes, it left some scars) and I was in total shock.
  • 4-5 years after that: Someone got stabbed near TARC for robbery also.
  • 2006/2007: Michelle (my brother-in-law's wife)'s car got broken in, in Section 5 and her digital camera got stolen.
  • Somewhere in 2006: Dave, my schoolmate, his car got broken in and the fellow took his working bag, thinking there was a laptop in it. His car was parked near NZ Curry House.
  • Mid this year (2008): My grandma-in-law's house in Section 5 got broken in and the fellow took my brother-in-law's a few months old Mac.

There was a pondok polis in Section 5 (they occupied a housing lot) and it is always been locked. I think the MP needs to do something about this. Meanwhile, Hell is breaking loose... o.O
